Busy Day

Wowie- what a day. Been crazy busy. It's hard to be busy and feel dead all at the same time. The boys had art class today, so I had to get up. Riley and I didn't want to, cuz we are not morning people. We both would have rather stayed in bed for another hour. Oh, well. We made it.

We went and picked Dalven up at lunch time.

I tried to take a nap, but just as I would start to doze off, Braden would come bump into my chair, yell, ask for a snack.... what ever it took for me to not sleep! Little bumm.

Gonna be another short entry... I've lost 33 lbs so far. Going good!!

Headed to bed.

My Journey

Well.... this is not easy, but I am still going. I get tired alot, but I've been told this is to be expected. I am starving, basically. Today is 2 weeks out from the surgery, and I am down 22 lbs. On so many levels that is exciting...it's what Idid all of this for. It's rough right now getting back into eating food. My body isn't sure what to do with the food. I have lots of gurgle nosies that I am not used to. But, things will start getting easier once I have a selection of things to eat.

I am still healing from the surgery. I have my owies across the front of me, but they are healing very well. Things are going well.

Not much to say tonight, but I wanted to update a little....

Art Class

The boys have been taking an art class that is held at our friends house. It is being taught by a member of our ward. He is great. He is teaching them techniques, not just handing them crayons and paper. They do watercolors, colored pencils and he even has real artist pencils for them to use. It is great.

Yesterday, they had a really cute project they did and I have the pics to share with you. They had to take off their shoes, and we traced their shoes on the page - end to end. Then they were to make bugs out of the shapes. I think a couple kids made catapillers, and one even made a bedbug. I LOVE the imaginations on these little people!!

After they got done with their pictures, Steve (their teacher) asked what kinds of bugs they made, and why. He loves to talk to them and know why they choose certian colors and designs.

Here is Bradens- he says it is a moth.

and a closer picture of his moth.....(mommy traced his shoes, and I messed it up a bit.....oops)

And here is Rileys... I LOVE his... he says it is a mosquito. Isn't this the cutest mosquito you have ever seen?? He told daddy that it is even in a jar. (look close, it really is, he even drew a lid on top.) And the funny part, is he told daddy that he forgot to draw holes in the top of the lid for the mosquito to get air. We laughed at that one.

They have been learning alot from this class. They are really enjoying it too. I will try to keep posting their projects as they do them.

Healing

Well, I did it. I had the surgery. It's been a struggle, but I am doing better today. Yesterday, I wanted to die... it was hard being in the car for the hour, and all the bumps hurt. But we made it. I ended up getting Dalven to buy me a recliner, since the couch puts me at the wrong angles to lay, and laying flat in the bed hurts even more...so here it is!! Yay me.... ha ha The guys fight me for it when I get up... I came back from the bathroom to find all 3 of them snuggled in it. Sheesh.

I have 6 holes across the front of me, Dalven said I can't post the pic of my tummy on the blog, but I guess if you want to see, I will send you an email.... the owies are starting to itch. Hope that means it is getting better. The doc used some sort of "super glue" medical style to glue things back together on the outside. He used staples on the inside... he said they will not set off the airport security... bummer... LOL

So, I am home for a few days, and not planning on doing much.

Call me or email -- I am gonna be bored!!

Nerves and Fireworks

Well, it's been awhile since I've blogged. It's been nonstop insanity at our house. June 20th was a crazy day- we had fireworks delivered, I had a doctor appointment and the boys had a teeball game. My doc appt was a education class that is necessary prior to the bariatric surgery. They tell you that usually from the education class, that it is 6-8 weeks after that, when they can usually get you in for surgery. WELL... when I mentioned that we were moving in Sept, the doc wanted me to get put at the top of the list to get done ASAP, so that I can get my 2 month check up before we go.

I got a call last week that they have me scheduled for July 9th. It is going to be a crazy week again.

We did really well at the fireworks stand. The 3rd and 4th were insane. MONEY MONEY MONEY everywhere!! People were standing in line waiting to check out and my fingers were flying on the register!! We did over 13,000 dollars (net) just on the 4th alone. TNT figured since this was a new location, that we would most likely sell on average, 20,000 dollars. Well, we over shot that number by 10,000 dollars. Not too shabby! We will take home about 20% of it. It was a long 2 weeks out there. Sooooo glad it is over with.

We took the boys to Chuckie Cheese tonight to reward them for their hard work out at the tent. They were big boys helping us packing boxes and unpacking. They were really good about helping us!

WELL, I guess this catches us up for the moment. I want to try to keep things updated until we move.... and then we will get situated in San Diego!!

Orders

Well, it is official. We are moving. Dalven has orders to go the Asheville, which is stationed at San Diego (Point Loma Subase)

Come mid Sept. we will be packing out our house and sending it away with the movers. We should be leaving Groton around the 18th and heading WEST!!!
We are pretty excited, and yet, it's pretty scary doing it all over again. But, such is a military family life. The kids seem pretty excited, we've been talking to them and they like the idea of being in California. Sea World, Disney, Family..... lots of good things should come from this!

I am somewhat nervous about going back to sea duty. The Asheville is a fast attack boat and they go on West Pac's that last 6 months. I hate the 2-3 months Dalven is gone on the boomers.... how am I going to deal with 6 months!! Guess we will figure it out. I hope.
Talk about drama, huh?

Dinosaur Crossing

We visited "Dinosaur Crossing" in Montville. It was pretty fun. We started inside and looked at some of the dino skeletons they have inside. They have fossils and all sorts of different rocks and minerals. Riley really likes rocks! He was enjoying it.

Dalven let them go downstairs where they have a set up to pan for gold. We (Dalven and I) were disappointed when we found out it was panning for pyrite. (Fools' Gold.) But, the boys had fun doing it and came home with a little drawstring bag full of "gold".
After we got done here, I got to pick out a geode.... they cut it open for me and it is white crystals with blue lace something? Agate, I think. I don't remember for sure, but it is really pretty. I will have to take a pic of it to post.

Here are some pics of the boys finding the dinosaurs. (sorry the pictures are not bigger-)

The boys said they were taking this one for a walk...holding it's hands.

We had a lot of fun for the afternoon -- we even found a Veloca-chipmunk -- vicious!! (or is it a Saber toothed Chipmunk??) What ever it is, it's eyes glow red in the picture!!
